Busy Block is operated by Trevin Chow, an individual based in the United States.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Your name and email address
• Google account identifier (for calendar authentication)
• Authentication tokens required to access your calendars

Calendar Information

To provide our service, we access and store certain Google Calendar data:

• What we store: Calendar metadata (calendar names, IDs), event IDs, event titles (for activity logs), your sync rules, and rule configurations
• What we access but do not store: Event descriptions, attendee information, and other event details—accessed only during sync operations
• Retention: Activity logs containing event titles are retained for 30 days. Other calendar data is retained for the duration of your subscription and deleted when you cancel your account

Payment Information

We use Polar (polar.sh) as our merchant of record for payment processing. We never directly collect, process, or store your payment card information. Polar handles all payment data subject to their own privacy policy. We receive only transaction confirmations and subscription status from Polar.

Usage Information

We automatically collect information about how you use our service, including:

• Pages visited and features used
• Sync activity and rule configurations
• Error logs and performance data
• Device type, browser, and operating system
• IP address and approximate location
• Referral source (how you found us)

Communications

If you contact us for support or other inquiries, we collect the contents of your messages and any information you choose to provide.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the Busy Block service
• Sync your calendars according to your configured rules
• Process payments and manage your subscription
• Send transactional emails (account confirmations, receipts, service alerts)
• Send marketing communications (you can opt out at any time)
• Monitor and improve service performance and reliability

• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
• Comply with legal obligations

We may also use aggregated or anonymized data that cannot reasonably identify you for analytics, research, and service improvement purposes.

Google API Services User Data Policy

Busy Block's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

How We Use Google Calendar Data

We request access to your Google Calendar to provide the calendar synchronization features you have requested. Specifically:

• Read access: To detect events on your source calendars and evaluate them against your sync rules
• Write access: To create, update, and delete blocking events on your destination calendars

Limited Use Disclosure

In accordance with Google's Limited Use requirements:

• We only use your Google Calendar data to provide and improve the calendar synchronization features you have requested
• We do not use your Google Calendar data for advertising purposes
• We do not sell your Google Calendar data to third parties
• We do not use your Google Calendar data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes
• We do not transfer your Google Calendar data to third parties except as necessary to provide the service (e.g., our hosting provider), or as required by law

We use the following third-party services to operate Busy Block:

We may add additional analytics services (such as Google Analytics or advertising pixels) to measure advertising effectiveness. These services may use cookies and similar technologies.

Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these services, and we encourage you to review their policies.

Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

• Keeping you signed in to your account
• Remembering your preferences

• Measuring the effectiveness of our marketing

You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling certain cookies may affect service functionality.

Do Not Track: Our service does not currently respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals.

Data Retention

• Active accounts: We retain your data for the duration of your subscription
• Cancelled accounts: We delete your data from our systems upon account cancellation
• Payment records: Polar, as merchant of record, may retain transaction records as required by law
• Logs: Error and usage logs are retained for up to 30 days
• Support communications: Retained for as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry and for our records

Your Rights and Choices

You can:

• Access your data: View your account information and sync settings within the app
• Update your data: Modify your account details and preferences at any time
• Delete your data: Cancel your account to have all your data removed from our systems
• Revoke calendar access: Disconnect your Google Calendar through your Google account settings at any time
• Opt out of marketing: Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email
• Request your data: Contact us to request a copy of your data in a portable format

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have additional rights:

Busy Block is operated from the United States and our data is hosted in the USA. If you access our service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country. By using our service, you consent to this transfer.

If you are located in the European Union or United Kingdom, you may have additional rights under GDPR including the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Children's Privacy

Busy Block is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 18. If we become aware that we have collected data from someone under 18, we will delete that information promptly. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 18, please contact us.

Business Transfers
